  • How many questions are on the Oregon permit test?

    The Oregon permit test consists of 35 questions, and you must answer at least 28 questions correctly to get a passing score (80%). The questions in our sample tests are nearly identical to those on the official exam.
  • What is an Oregon learner's permit?

    A permit is the first step for new drivers and allows you to practice driving with supervision. You must be at least 15 years old to get one.
  • How do I get a learner's permit in Oregon?

    You must pass the written knowledge test and vision exam at the DMV. Bring proof of identity, residence, legal presence, and parental consent forms.
  • Who can supervise me while driving?

    A licensed driver over 21 must sit in the front seat.
  • When can I get an Oregon provisional license?

    Before you can move on to a provisional driver's license, you must have had your permit for at least six months, be at least 16 years old, and have completed ONE of the following requirements:
    • Completed Driver Education. A driver education course is required for young drivers to progress through the GDL program.
    • Completed supervised driving. If you decide not to take driver's education, you will be required to take 100 hours of supervised driving. If you did take driver's ed, 50 hours of supervised driving will be required.
    You can take the driving skills test and get your provisional license if you meet the requirements.
  • What do I bring to the DMV?

    Proof of identity, Social Security number, and residency. You'll also need parental consent if you're a minor.
