Can I use my out of state driver’s license in Pennsylvania?

All drivers with out of state licenses must obtain a Pennsylvania license within 60 days of establishing residency within the state.

Will I need to retake the driving test after moving?

No, you will not be required to take the Pennsylvania state driving exam as long as your license is current or has been expired for less than six months. If it has been expired for more than six months, you will be required to restart the driver’s license process.

Can I keep my old license after moving?

You will be required to surrender your out of state driver’s license before you will be issued a Pennsylvania Driver’s license. At the time of renewal, you will also be subject to a vision screening.
