You want to check oil and fluid levels before every ride. Hydraulic fluid and coolant has to be checked weekly at a minimum.

You should have a space cushion regardless of the conditions, weather, and how long you have held your license. However, newly licensed riders may need additional space.

The BAC limit is 0.08 for drivers 21 years old or older, but you may be affected at a much lower BAC and be an unsafe rider after as little as one alcoholic beverage. The BAC limit for motorcyclists is the same as for car drivers.

If you need to leave the road to check the motorcycle, get as far off the road as you can. Motorcycles that are stopped by the side of the road can be very hard to see, so you want to give yourself as much space as you can to the road.

Dragging the rear brake is done to control the speed of the bike and to maintain stability, especially in corners or turns. Do not use the front brake in this way as it could tip the bike over.

How Do I Get My Motorcycle License in Arizona?

  • You can forego this program if a parent or guardian certifies that you’ve completed at least 30 hours of motorcycle training and driving practice.
