Requirements in Connecticut

Teen

Teens must complete a minimum of 40 hours of supervised driving practice, including at least 22 hours of practice with parents or guardians. Driving hours with a licensed instructor required: Before obtaining a license, teens are required to complete at least 8 hours of behind-the-wheel training with a licensed instructor. Minimum age to start taking lessons: 16 years old.

Adult

If you're an adult looking to get your driver's license, you are required to complete a 2-hour Safe Driving Practices course before taking the road test.
