How should you act when encountering flash flooding?

Do NOT attempt to cross a flooded roadway! If you come upon flash flooding, turn around and choose an alternative route. It is highly dangerous to drive your vehicle into floodwaters of unknown depth. In fact, six inches of water is often enough to cause loss of control and potential stalling, and a foot of water will float most vehicles.
