Requirements in Bingham County

Teen

Teen drivers are required to complete a minimum of 6 hours of behind-the-wheel driving practice with a certified instructor if they are under 17 years old. Driving hours with a licensed instructor required: Teens must complete a minimum of 50 hours of supervised driving practice, including 10 hours at night. Minimum age to start taking lessons: Teens can start taking driving lessons at the age of 14 and a half.

Adult

To obtain a driver's license, adults need to pass a driving test and obtain a learner's permit. They can take driving lessons to prepare for the test. There are no mandatory hours for adults in Idaho State, but taking lessons with a certified instructor is highly recommended.
