- Before you can practice driving, you need to get a permit by passing the permit test. You can practice for it here.
- You must complete a state-approved driver education course, which includes 30 hours of classroom instruction, 6 hours of behind-the-wheel training, and 6 hours of in-car observation.
- Drivers under 18 must hold a permit for at least nine months and complete 50 hours of supervised driving (including 10 hours at night). You can find the driving log for download here.
