- You can apply for a permit when you're 16 years old, which allows you to drive under supervision.
- You'll need to pass the written knowledge test to receive a permit.
- You must hold the permit for at least 6 months before taking the road test and log 65 hours of supervised driving with a licensed adult or driving instructor (find the log form here). This includes at least 10 hours at night and at least 5 hours in bad weather.
- After passing the road test, you'll receive a junior driver's license, which allows you to drive unsupervised (with certain restrictions).
- At age 18, all junior license restrictions are lifted.
